CineWorld - Redefining the movie tickets booking app

Redefining the app user journeys that provide a seamless tickets booking experience based on preferences

Overview

The stimulus for this project was out of my own frustration using the app. CineWorld provides world class movie experience in Dublin but I always had not the easiest time using their app. It was not hard to find the users for the initial research. The goal was to redefine the basic user journeys/flows and redesign the overall look and feel of the app to make it more intuitive

Project Context
  • Duration : 2 to 3 weeks
  • Design Challenge/Independent Study
  • Solo Project
  • Users Involved : 5
* Since the app was already working and it was an independent design challenge, I started straight up with my fellow app users (mostly my friends and neighbours) to see if they have the same issues/pain points. The focus was more on enhancing the overall look and feel/asthetics of the app interface while making the user flows easy and seamless.
Pain points / Speed breakers
  • More manual entry despite having multiple booking options in the main screen
  • The booking process feels really long
  • Often the taps on buttons don't work (click area is small !!)
  • Seats availabilty is not shown until the very end of booking process
  • Overall booking process is just horribly slow
Proposed user journeys
  • Movie by title
  • Movie by timings
